Intensive therapy accelerates progress through a short burst of increased therapy. Intensives are suitable for all ages and varied diagnoses. A child can undertake one or multiple therapies every day over 1, 2 or 3 week blocks working towards a short term goal. Recommendations for frequency and duration of intensive therapy blocks are based on the individual child and family’s needs and can include:
Individualised program: 1-4 hours per day, 1-3 week blocks
Combined approach of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy
Timed around growth spurts
Pre and post surgery
-
If you are eligible we recommend applying for NDIS funding as soon as possible. This involves making a verbal application, completing an access request form and gathering your evidence. We can support you by writing an evidence-based NDIS funding report to give evidence of the need for funding and establish NDIS goals.
